WINGS Guides Programme

MHC is working with Women Initiative for Ageing Successfully (WINGS) to engage and train women above the age of 40s as museum guides for MHC for a pilot run for 3 months. The objectives of this programme are to cultivate a pool of Malay and English speaking museum guides; to engage women over 40 years old; and to promote social responsibility for MHC.

The MHC team organized a familiarization programme and museum guiding workshops for the 15 WINGS museum guides in November 2010. In addition, MHC engaged the Singapore Heritage Society to conduct a Kampung Gelam familiarization tour for the WINGS museum guides on 6 December 2010.

The first batch of WINGS museum guides has been deployed on 16 December 2010 and the MHC team will continue to work with WINGS to short-list more interested WINGS members and to conduct more training sessions.
