Pertandingan (Competition) NewsMaker is a competition organised by the Malay Language Council, Singapore and Teevers Pte Ltd. In this competition, Rakan Bahasa (Friends of the Language) create content, and present news reports related to the Malay language and culture using the NewsMaker application. Videos are in Malay.

Public Lecture Series (PLS) is a monthly lecture series which focuses on key topics related to the centre’s permanent galleries, special exhibitions and topical issues relevant to the Malays in Singapore and the larger Nusantara. Speakers include respected regional and international academics, subject matter experts, cultural practitioners and community elders.

PLS is offered to MHC’s young adult audience segment and upwards to engage them on a more intellectual level, with a focus on non-Malay participants who want to learn more about another culture.
